Central to Ayurvedic philosophy is the concept of "Prakriti," representing an individual's innate constitution. Determined at conception, Prakriti remains relatively stable throughout life and manifests through the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Veta

Governed by air and space, Veta regulates movement within the body. Imbalances may lead to conditions such as anxiety and irregularity.

Pitta

Associated with fire and water, Pitta governs digestion and metabolism. Imbalances can result in irritability and inflammation.

Kapha

Rooted in water and earth, Kapha governs structure and stability. Imbalances may lead to lethargy and congestion.

In a healthy individual, all three doshas exist in equilibrium, contributing to overall well-being. Ayurveda acknowledges that imbalances in these energies can lead to various health issues. Therefore, it prescribes personalized interventions to restore balance, encompassing dietary adjustments, lifestyle modifications, and therapeutic treatments.

Ayurveda, a time-honored system of healing that originated over 5,000 years ago in India, stands as one of the oldest holistic approaches to medicine globally. Rooted in ancient Sanskrit, the term "Ayurveda" combines "ayur" (life) and "veda" (knowledge or science), translating to "the science of life." This holistic philosophy encompasses not only the treatment of ailments but also emphasizes preventive measures and lifestyle practices to maintain well-being.

Within Ayurveda, two fundamental lifestyle approaches are highlighted: "Swastha Vritta" and "Aturavritta," each integral to health preservation and disease prevention.

Swastha Vritta: Nurturing a Healthy Lifestyle

"Swastha Vritta," or "regimen for maintaining health," underscores the importance of daily and seasonal regimens to sustain well-being. This Sanskrit concept advocates for a balanced lifestyle encompassing nourishing routines and practices aligned with nature's rhythms.

Aturavritta: Care for the Sick

Contrarily, "Aturavritta," encapsulated by the Sanskrit phrase "Aturasya pripalanam," emphasizes the attentive care and treatment provided to the unwell. In the realm of Ayurveda, this approach underscores the significance of tailored interventions to address the needs of individuals during periods of illness.
